Now that ballet flats have well and truly died a death, it's time for different styles of flat shoe to make their mark. Front of the queue is the Lemno brogue by Salvatore Ferragamo for Yohji Yamamoto. The black and white leather shoe forms part of a limited edition eight-piece collection between the two fashion houses of women's shoes for autumn/winter 2009.
According to James Ferragamo, director of the brand's women's leather goods department, "When Yohji Yamamoto visited our company, he was struck by the complexity of the craftsmanship - with up to 150 individual steps - that goes into the making of a Ferragamo shoe. By working as a team, we have been able to both express and respect the personalities of the two brands."
Already spotted on the fashion-forward feet of Sienna Miller, Agyness Deyn and Leighton Meester, the black and white leather Lemno looks set to walk all over the ballet flat this season.
The Lemno brogue costs £349. The Salvatore Ferragamo for Yohji Yamamoto mini-collection is available now at Yohji Yamamoto boutiques and select Salavatore Ferragamo stores.
