Drew Barrymore wowed the crowds in New York last night in an old school Hollywood look for the premiere of her new film Grey Gardens.
The US actress took a style step back in time in a nude, embellished gown by Alberta Ferretti and a netted flower hair fascinator, beaded clutch and Roger Vivier heels, complete with classic screen icon waves in her hair and retro make-up, as she posed on the red carpet outside the city's Ziegfeld Theatre alongside Grey Gardens co-star Jessica Lange.
The film, to be shown on US TV network HBO this weekend, is an adaptation of the 1975 cult documentary, which tells the riches-to-rags story of Jackie Onassis' eccentric aunt and cousin, Big Edie and daughter Little Edie (played by Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore respectively). The film spans four decades, from their early lives as two well bred, immensely wealthy, stylish New York society women to their days living in squalor in a crumbling, rat-infested mansion in New York's East Hamptons.
Grey Gardens airs on HBO on 18 April with no date yet set for a UK release.
