Following last week's news that Versace's younger line Versus is to be revived, the house has today announced they have collaborated with Christopher Kane on a Versus capsule collection of shoes, bags and jewels.
Launched in 1989 by the late Gianni Versace, who said it embodied "innovation, flair and unorthodox talent", Versus was closed when the company decided to downsize. Under the new plans, Donatella will design a clothing line for spring/summer 2010, while Kane's collection will hit stores next July.
Donatella, who hired Kane as a Central Saint Martins graduate in 2007 as a consultant, said the North Lanarkshire-born designer "is a highly creative young designer and his work impressed [her] from the beginning. His rock'n'roll style is very powerful, glamorous and sensual, perfectly in tune with the mood of Versus."
