COS has confirmed that it will open its first store outside of London in Birmingham later this year, the first in a series of new shops around the UK.
The new branch, which will open its doors on 21 August, will be nestled next to the city's iconic Future Systems building and nearby to the space-age-like Selfridges department store in the Bullring shopping centre. Spread over two floors the new shop will house the complete women's, men's and childrenswear collections and its interior will reflect the brand's sleek clean-line aesthetic through the use of natural colours and materials.
A spokesperson for the Scandinavian label, part of the group that owns H&M, also confirmed that the company is looking to roll-out more stores across the UK, but at present no cities have been finalised. They also revealed that COS, which opened its first store in London in 2007, will add to its three shops in the capital and set up another later this year, although no location has been specified.
"We are excited by our gradual expansion since our launch in 2007, the new Birmingham store represents a significant part of this growth and an important move outside of London, not least due to its location in the heart of Birmingham's stylish shopping hub," says Pernilla Wohlfahrt, brand director of COS.
The COS store in Birmingham opens on 21 August 2009.
