Just days after it was announced that Diane von Furstenberg was making waves on the music scene with the release of a compilation album, the tireless designer has today unveiled her next project: refurbishing a number of rooms and suites at Claridge's.
While DVF is known as a consummate New Yorker and Claridge's, the ultimate in English Art Deco opulence, the two have a relationship that spans back to the Seventies - with the designer confessing that some of her previous collections have even been inspired by the hotel's jewel-like interior.
"One of my fondest memories was when I was in London as a young, independent businesswoman and stayed at Claridge's. I knew I had made it," she says. "To me, Claridge's is the most glamourous hotel in the world; I regard it as my home away from home. I am honoured to become part of the hotel's legacy and rich design history."

Our collaboration with the talented Diane von Furstenberg is the latest storyline within our history of forward-thinking design.
