All shoe lovers listen up. Designer fashion boutique Browns, one of London's most exciting style spots, is set to open its first stand-alone footwear store in the capital next week. Prompted by bumper shoe sales in its South Molten Street shop (designer footwear sales are reported to have doubled in the last two years), the luxury boutique will use the space formerly occupied by its bridalwear store on Brook Street to open its new two-floor shoe emporium. Shoppers can expect the usual mix of traditional designer labels and exciting cutting-edge brands already found at the main boutique, such as Christian Louboutin, Chloé and Guiseppe Zanotti. What's more, to mark the occasion a bunch of designer labels - including Balmain, Rick Owens, Rupert Sanderson and Nicholas Kirkwood to name a few - have created exclusive one-off pieces to be sold in the shop. If that wasn't enough, footwear fans can also enjoy a whole host of beauty treatments, such as pedicures, to get feet shoe-ready, and fix broken heels using the in-house cobbler service.
"I feel that shoe design has become more exciting and creative in the past few years and designers are pushing the boundaries, which makes this category hugely dynamic and interesting right now," Erin Mullaney, buying director at Browns, was quoted as saying. She continued: "Browns has always been the first to introduce new designers and products to the market and we felt that there was an opportunity in London to create a stand-alone shoe concept that was new, exciting and dynamic."
The Browns Shoe Store opens on 24 January 2009.
