As fashion partnerships go, this is certainly an exciting one: accessories designer Anya Hindmarch is to join forces with British heritage brand Barbour to design a range of coats.
The London-based designer - famous for her £5 I'm Not A Plastic Bag handbag but with main line collection designs priced up to £1,395 - will team up with Barbour, who counts the Queen and Alexa Chung as fans of its classic country wax coats, to create outerwear for the first time.
Anya Hindmarch said of her new venture, "The collaboration with Barbour feels like a natural partnership for me. I am excited to be working with another British brand and one with such a strong iconic heritage."
Claire Saunders, head of marketing for Barbour added, "There is a great synergy between both brands as we both share a passion for quality and excellence. By combining Barbour's country tailoring with Anya's city elegance, we have created a collection of exquisite yet durable jackets."
The collection of four jackets, which will be priced from £249, will hit Anya Hindmarch stores and selected retailers worldwide from autumn 2010.
