Portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz and artist Damien Hirst are among several A-list personalities who will guest design Louis Vuitton luggage as part of a charity auction.
The six guest designers, among whom are Louis Vuitton creative director Marc Jacobs and Oscar-winning Babel and Brokeback Mountain composer Gustavo Santaolalla, have sketched their dream Louis Vuitton leather goods to be produced in the French label's Parisian workshop, which is now in its 150th year.
Leibovitz has designed a backpack, in Louis Vuitton's signature monogram canvas, which features red cushioned microfibre compartments and comes complete with black leather trim. The 59-year-old, famous for her longstanding work with Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone magazines, has also created a matching camera shoulder bag with outer zipped compartments. Damien Hirst sketched a tall trunk in black with blue piping with several pull-out sections to store his surgical tools, while Marc Jacobs created a designer dog carrier so that his pet pooches, Daisy and Alfred, could travel in style alongside him and Argentine Gustavo Santaolalla designed a luxury holder for his ronroco - a stringed instrument from his native South America.
All six limited edition designs will be auctioned off at London's Sotheby's on 17 November in aid of the Red Cross.
