Amanda Wakeley has announced that she will return to London Fashion Week in September to show her spring/summer 2010 collection following the purchase of her own label. Wakeley, who is known for her luxurious and elegant evening dresses, bought back the rights to her designer fashion business in April of this year having sold it over a decade ago.
"I am delighted to return to the London Fashion Week schedule in September, especially during such an important season," she said. "Through buying back my label, I have confirmed my commitment to the continued development of Amanda Wakeley and showing again in London is a key step forward in that process."
The self-taught designer joins a long list of British brands who are returning to show at London Fashion Week, including Matthew Williamson, Jonathan Saunders, Burberry Prorsum, Pringle of Scotland and Clements Ribeiro, as part of the British Fashion Council's 25th anniversary.
London Fashion Week spring/summer 2010 runs from 18 to 22 September 2009 at its new home, Somerset House.
