As every good magician knows, you're tricks mean nothing without a beautiful assistant (where would Paul Daniels be without the lovely Debbie McGee, for instance?). But David Blaine has taken the phenomenon to a whole new level. The New York magician extraordinaire is as famous for his Houdini-like stunts (being buried alive and frozen in ice are all in a days work) as he is for his stunning model/actress/popstar girlfriends. (Maybe it's all that hanging around with best mate Leonardo DiCaprio, himself no stranger to a supermodel gal pal like Gisele Bundchen or Bar Rafaeli.) After splitting from German stunner Manon Von Gerkan last year, he has managed to cast his spell over French mannequin Alizee Guinochet (pictured with Blaine, top left), who's modelled for department store Saks and been photographed for Swedish Elle and Cosmogirl, with rumours even circling of an imminent engagement.
Perhaps Blaine learnt everything he knows from magician and famed modeliser David Copperfield, who famously pulled the trick of the century by managing to bag none other than über model Claudia Schiffer in the '90s (pictured below left).
Claudia managed to break free in 1999. Perhaps she could send some tips to poor Alizee on how to break free of the modelising magician's curse.
