Look out London, Victoria Beckham is coming to next season's Fashion Week!
While she'll still be showing her AW13 collection in New York, Victoria will be joining a panel of six judges including Diane Von Furstenberg and Donatella Versace (AAAAH!), to decide the winner of 2013's International Woolmark Prize.
Previously won by Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent, to say the accolade is a big industry deal would be somewhat of an understatement. But despite its 60 year history, this will be the first time the competition has ever featured on the LFW schedule.
So what's going to happen? Well...
Six entrants who have already won regional contests will be tasked with creating the best collection they possibly can from Merino wool.
The judges will then decide their winner after watching a catwalk show of all the designs on February 16, with the champion receiving a $100,000 AUD sponsorship, pus rail space in the world's biggest stores including Harvey Nichols in the UK, and Bergdorf Goodman in the USA.
Now for the important bit - the entrants!
From the US comes Sophie Theallet, for Europe we have Belgium's Christian Wijnants, Ban Xiao Xiu will represent China, DRESSEDUNDRESSED hails from Japan, while Dion Lee (already a fave of Charlize Theron) comes from Australia.
Set to make a mark on the fashion scene starting with next season, we'll be keeping our eye on this creative collective!
