After yesterday's rumours, Swedish high street giant H&M has confirmed that Lanvin, France's oldest couture house, will be its next designer collaborator.
The womenswear collection, which hits stores on 23 November, will be designed by Lanvin's artistic director Alber Elbaz, while the men's line will be created by the label's menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver.
"H&M approached us to collaborate and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less," Elbaz says in the video below. "What intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public."
Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M, added: "Lanvin will bring to H&M a luxurious French tradition that's also modern and playful. It's very much a Lanvin collection, using their cut and tailoring, with lots of focus on form and details for both women and men."
The Lanvin for H&M collection will be unveiled on 2 November via an online film on the store's website to give shoppers a sneak peek of what they can buy, three weeks before it hits the shop floor.
Put it in your diary now.
