Audrey Tautou wows at Chanel premiere

The French actress hits the red carpet for the new film biopic.

French actress Audrey Tautou took to the red carpet on Monday for the premiere of Coco Avant Chanel looking every inch the Chanel girl.

The actress, who plays legendary fashion designer Coco Chanel in the new film biopic, wore a white strapless dress with black floral print from the Chanel Couture spring/summer '09 collection, a black leather jacket, also by the French label, and Sergio Rossi heels for Monday's screening at the Cinema Gaumont Marignan in Paris. Tautou, who was joined by the rest of the cast plus director and screenwriter, Anne Fontaine, then headed to the Chanel jewellery boutique for the premiere after-party.

Loosely based on the Coco Chanel biography by Edmonde Charles-Roux, the film tells the story of the couturier's early life; from her tough upbringing in a French orphanage - where she learnt to sew - to her rise into high society, her debut catwalk show and the story of how the little black dress was born.

The flick hits screens here in the UK later this year and movie-goers can expect great storytelling, stunning photography and, of course, fabulous costumes.
