Lindsay Lohan for Ungaro?
French fashion house Ungaro is said to be eyeing up the Hollywood starlet
Might Ms Lohan be plotting a move to Paris? The Hollywood starlet is rumoured to have been head-hunted by French fashion house Ungaro. The New York Post's Page Six reported earlier this week that Esteban Cortazar, the label's current head designer, was threatening to leave following the news the wild child was being tapped to sign on as a "creative consultant".
Today, Women's Wear Daily has filed a report saying "it looks like" Cortazar will indeed be leaving due to "reaching an impasse with Ungaro management over its marketing and advertising strategy".
Ungaro was founded in 1965 by Emanuel Ungaro, and was one of Paris' most prestigious fashion houses until the designer's retirement in 2004. Since then, a number of designers such as Giambattista Valli have tried their hand at the job, without success.
While not at first an obvious choice, the Lohan rumour may not be as far-fetched as it seems: as well as 6126, the leggings line she founded last year, she has also launched her own spray tan, Sevin Nyne. Further, Mounir Moufarrige, Ungaro's chief executive officer, is known for making provocative hiring decisions. As well as hiring Cortazar when he was only 23, he is also known for replacing Karl Lagerfeld as designer at Chloé with the then 25-year-old Stella McCartney.
