Lohan looks to Ungaro's future
Lindsay Lohan promises "I'll be back", despite damning show reviews.
When Lindsay Lohan sent sequinned pasties, body-con minis and ripped denim down the Emanuel Ungaro catwalk for her spring/summer 2010 design debut for the label, fashion critics from around the world rolled their eyes - but the actress has insisted that she isn't phased.
In her first interview since the collection (which she co-created with designer Estrella Archs) was universally panned, the Mean Girls star has explained that she's not hanging up her creative cap just yet.
"I feel like it's pretty much a fairytale," she defiantly tells the latest issue of People. "It's certainly more than I could have ever imagined, more than I'd ever hoped for."
"I'm going back to Paris. The next collection that they have is already in January. I was thinking about March, I mean I thought that I have until March, and they're like, 'Oh no-no-no, it's January in New York.' I was like, 'OK... I'll be back!'"
Minus the reviled pasties, perhaps, the blame for which LiLo is quick to shift.
"I wasn't aware of the nipple tassels on the girls until they were walking out," she admits.
WWD branded the collection "an embarrassment", and all the big titles followed suit. There was, however, one person quick to defend Lindsay: her mum, Dina.
"She's just a little girl and God gave her this gift," Dina told reporters as the reviews rolled in. "She's just trying to create. She did great in Paris, don't believe what you read. She's genius at fashion."
