Gucci and Madonna party for UNICEF
Last night saw the party to end all parties at New York Fashion Week, with Madonna and Gucci teaming up to host the opening of the Italian fashion house's new flagship store (and the largest Gucci store in the world) on Fifth Avenue. With a list of co-chairs that included Madonna's pal Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Moore and husband Ashton Kutcher, and with the event also benefiting Raising Malawi and UNICEF, there was no doubt the event would have massive pulling power. The celebrity wattage was huge, with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani among the A-list attendees. Madonna, who arrived in a dove-grey dress with daughter Lourdes, said, "I am grateful that Gucci is joining forces with me to bring attention to a country with millions of children in desperate need of our help. Raising Malawi has already done tremendous work in helping these children. But we have much more to do and this event will surely bring us closer to our goal." -Danielle Radojcin
