Interview with Florence Welch of Florence And The Machine
Handbag.com chats on camera with Florence And The Machine's Florence Welch about her Mercury award nomination and her favourite fashion labels.
Florence Welch chats with handbag.com. Her band, Florence And The Machine, has been nominated for the 2009 Mercury Prize (alongside La Roux, Bat For Lashes and Kasabian, among others) for their debut album, Lungs, released last July. (The debut single from the album, Kiss With A Fist, features in the upcoming film Jennifer's Body, starring Megan Fox.)
The 22-year-old, who hails from South London, is managed by Mairead Nash, one half of DJ outfit Queens Of Noize. In what is now pop music lore, Nash decided to manage her after Florence dragged her into the toilets at one of her club nights and sang Etta James to her.
Here, Welch chats about her favourite fashion labels, such as Hannah Marshall, Gareth Pugh and H&M, and why, at the end of the day, she still likes a good rummage in a charity shop.
