Furla comes out from under the radar
The quiet label is making a splash with a new boutique, e-commerce site and eco range. By Danielle Radojcin
Furla is one of those under-the-radar designer brands that gets scant attention, probably due to its subtle approach to advertising (i.e. no celebrity product placement) while remaining popular with chic, working women for its beautifully luxurious, Italian-made handbags and shoes. Their strategy of fashionable as well as office-friendly product is clearly working. As well as a new boutique in plum position on London's Regent Street (they already have outlets on King's Road and New Bond Street), the label has just launched its e-commerce site, which is easy on the eye as well as to navigate. The label has also just introduced its Eco Bags mini-collection, made from sustainable fabrics, and priced between £50 and £105. Environmentally-friendly, web-savvy and chic to boot; this is one brand that really does cater to the modern woman.
