Visitors to shopping hotspot Bicester Village from today will be able to show their support for the UK's top designers by buying from the amazing - not to mention amazingly discounted - racks at the pop-up British Designers Collective store.
Launched this morning by the British Fashion Council's Harold Tillman and Erin O'Connor with a supporting cast of the designers featured, the store is a beautifully-curated boutique space (looking up, a roof strung with open umbrellas seemed more than appropriate on such a gloomy day), featuring clothing, shoes and jewellery from a plethora of the biggest and most exciting new names in British fashion.
Think Todd Lynn biker kecks alongside Julien Macdonald knitwear; House Of Holland slogan Tees alongside painterly Erdem prints; Georgina Goodman's sculptural heels alongside hyper-fierce Maria Francesca Pepe jewellery.
"I am so excited about the Bicester Village British Designers Collective in association with the British Fashion Council. It provides the perfect opportunity to pick up key designer pieces from the very best up and coming British designer talent at an affordable price tag," said Erin. "Plus, it really supports the designers, something which is vital for the success of their labels."
The twins behind the Felder Felder label, Annette and Danielle Felder - whose collection is featured - couldn't agree more. "They've brought luxury to an outlet," they confided, somewhat in awe of the turnout. "It looks amazing, and we're thrilled to be involved."
The British Designers Collective boutique is open at Bicester Village from 31 March to 7 May 2010, showcasing ready-to-wear and accessories from London's top designers with discounts of up to 50%. Ready, steady, shop...
