Who they? Sierra Leone-born Abdul Koroma and Andrew Jones, who is British, set up fashion label Modernist in London in 2005.
Why the buzz? The pair, who met while both working for Max Mara in Italy, debuted their first collection as finalists in the 2005 Fashion Fringe competition during London Fashion Week. Since then, their star has continued to rise with a series of on-schedule presentations, culminating in their spring/summer 2009 triumph shown last month at the Mango store on Oxford Street. You'll like Modernist if...you like classic tailoring with a romantic sensibility.
Where can I buy? Harvey Nichols, London.
