SALE GUIDE
The summer sales are in full swing but beware, all those bargains tantalising you can lead to a wardrobe full of clothes that, come autumn, you won\'t want to be seen dead in. Fashion Director Belinda White guides you through the minefield to make sure that you\'ll be quids in and looking hot next seaon.

Bottega Veneta
Navy blue is the one colour guaranteed to keep you on trend come autumn, so while everyone else is scrabbling for those summer brights on the sale rail make a bee-line for the moody blue hues. As seen on the catwalks of Bottega Veneta (left), Burberry Prorsum, Lanvin & Miu Miu.

Gucci
Next season sees the boho look reborn but this time round its roots are in folklore and traditional costume detailing. Grab all the bright ethnic prints and embroidered smocks you can and when the weather turns, layer them with textured sheepskin and chunky knits and tweed. Check out Gucci (left) and Luella for inspiration.

Calvin Klein
You can\'t go wrong in a classic shift dress which is why you\'ll find them filling the rails all year round and ultimately in the sale. This autumn keep your shift clean and simple like purists Calvin Klein (left), Yves Saint Laurent and Jil Sander.

Prada
If you want to stay one step ahead of the fashion pack Miuccia Prada is the one to watch. It may seem strange now, but when autumn comes you will likely be overcome with the desire to wear lace, so get it early and scour the sales for lacy treasures.
trends,lanvin,shopping,sales
lanvin
This spring every label worth its salt had at least one sexy cocktail dress on offer and there\'s no sign of that changing this autumn (see Lanvin left, for ideas). Make sure it\'s tight and sexy - it\'s all about the waist - and you\'ll be laughing all the way to the bank come party season.

McQueen
One of the hottest trends for autumn is going to be gothic or \'nu-grave\' as it\'s been dubbed. Stock up on skinny black jeans and, well, anything black really. Take your style cues from Alexander McQueen (left), Alexander Wang and Gareth Pugh.

YSL
First rule of sale shopping is keep it classic. It\'s best to avoid anything that will instantly be recognised as last season so get the style edge with chic grey tailoring. Next season\'s catwalks were full of grey
suiting from Yves Saint Laurent (left) to Marc Jacobs and Bottega Veneta.
temperley london,trends,shopping,sales
Temperley
The military trend shows no signs of losing momentum so seek out anything with epaulettes, brass buttons and frogging to get the look for less. Check out Stella McCartney, Chloé, Alexander MCQueen and Temperley London (left) for ideas.

BURBERRY PRORSUM
Super-size gemstones are one hot trend that will see you through next season so put some sparkle in your life now and you\'ll be all set \'til spring. Check out Burberry Prorsum (left), Pucci and Lanvin for style pointers.
trends,Chloe,shopping,sales
Chloe
Love it or hate it, when it comes to accessories next season is all about snake and croc skin. Many of the big designers will be featuring it, including perennial favourites Chloé (left), Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Louboutin. Stock up while the sales are on because this can be one pricey trend.
