As Valentine\'s Day approaches and love and romance is in the air, we thought it would be fun to take a look back at the top 10 stylish couples we wish were still together. Johnny and Kate, Brad and Gwyneth, Mick and Bianca? You betcha! Read on to find out more...

Who: Kate Moss and Johnny Depp

♥When: 1994 - 1998.
♥Signature style: The king and queen of grunge.
♥Why we loved them: He was Hollywood\'s bad boy actor, she was one of the world\'s top supermodels and a British grunge princess. Together they were the world\'s coolest couple, like, ever. Depp may have had high profile romances with Jennifer Grey, Winona Ryder and Twin Peaks star Sherilyn Fenn before falling for French imp Vanessa Paradis, but it\'s his relationship with Moss that does it for us. They just looked so freaking good together. An American hell-raising anti-hero with pin-up looks (dark eyes and cut glass cheekbones) and bad boy charm (think chain smoking, boozy benders and trashing hotel rooms) and a waifish ingénue with a flawless sense of style, together they conjured an air of sleaze-edged glamour and bohemian decadence (bath of champagne anyone?). They both remain icons, just not together. Shame.

Who: Vincent Gallo and Chloë Sevigny

♥When: 2003 - 2005.
♥Signature style: Effortlessly cool.
♥Why we loved them: America\'s reigning indie film queen met the actor, director and singer when he cast her in the lead role of his 2003 art house film, The Brown Bunny, in which he starred as well as directed. The controversial flick (Google it if you\'re not familiar with it) saw the pair embark on a promotional tour of the film looking dishevelled and glamorous in Cannes and achingly cool everywhere else. A fashion maverick who lent instant style kudos to anything she wore, and an edgy, artistic and regally handsome director, they made up America\'s coolest couple. Both are still revered for their non-conformist approach to fashion and film, fondness for art house flicks and risk-taking mentality. They were a match made in relationship heaven.

Who: SJP and RDJ

♥When: 1984 - 1991.
♥Signature style: ‘80s kids done good.
♥Why we loved them: Way before the role of Sex And The City\'s Carrie Bradshaw turned Sarah Jessica Parker into a style icon, she was a scrawny ‘80s kid with a bubble perm and acid wash jeans. In 1984 she met 19-year-old party boy Robert Downey Jr and they enjoyed a seven-year romance in their yoof. They may not have been the glossy, sleek and groomed stars that we know today, but that\'s why we loved them so. Sweet.

Who: Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow

♥When: 1995 - 1997.
♥Signature style: Hollywood blondes.
♥Why we loved them: They were the all-American Hollywood couple, all chiselled cheekbones, glacial blue eyes and icy blonde tresses. They looked so similar we kinda saw them as a male and female version of each other. Both were actors on the up who fell in love on set (after appearing in the 1995 crime thriller Se7en). Their appeal? They seemed so young, happy and carefree, before macrobiotic diets, strict fitness regimes, the pressures of parenthood and taking life too seriously took over. Bring them back, we say.

Who: Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet

♥When: 1985 - 1993.
♥Signature style: Bohemian.
♥Why we loved them: These two are cool with a capital ‘C\'. Lisa Bonet was the sultry and hip big sister from the Cosby Show that every girl looked up to. Lenny Kravitz was a rising rock god bringing a breath of fresh air to a music scene saturated with bland pop and hairspray rock. In 1985 Kravitz left LA to pursue his musical career in New York, where he met Bonet backstage at a New Edition concert. They married in 1988, had a daughter (budding actress and style princess Zoë Kravitz) and then sadly divorced in 1993, amid rumours of an affair with Madonna (Kravitz wrote her single Justify My Love). They were the ultimate cool couple.

Who: Anjelica Huston and Jack Nicholson

♥When: 1973 - 1989.
♥Signature style: Hollywood golden couple.
♥Why we loved them: When Anjelica Huston, a third generation Oscar-winner in a film-making dynasty (her director father John Huston and actor grandfather Walter Huston also scooped awards), met charismatic, powerful and mischievous film star Jack Nicholson, a Hollywood royalty couple was born. They enjoyed a glamorous, jet-setting romance before Anjelica moved in with Jack when she was just 22. With Jack\'s reputation as a ladykiller - he was romantically linked to a string of women including Michelle Phillips, Bebe Buell and Janice Dickinson before Huston - they did well to remain together for 17 years. But then he went and spoiled it all by doing something stupid like... getting waitress Rebecca Broussard pregnant. Oh, Jack.

Who: Mick and Bianca Jagger

♥When: 1970 - 1978.
♥Signature style: Rock star and disco queen.
♥Why we loved them: A snake-hipped, strutting, pouting rock god fronting one of the world\'s sexiest and biggest bands (him) and an exotic disco queen (her). Together = utterly fabulous. When the Rolling Stones frontman met the Nicaraguan-born beauty they embarked on a romance that entailed a whirlwind of fashion parties, rock concerts and visits to New York\'s iconic disco Studio 54, rubbing shoulders with the likes of pop art legend Andy Warhol and fashion founder Halston. And style-wise? Slinky and dandy for him and bold ‘70s disco and polished cool St Tropez glamour for her. Oh, to have been them.

Who: Drew Barrymore and Fabrizio Moretti

♥When: 2002 - 2007.
♥Signature style: Dishevelled hipster (him) and off-duty film star (her).
♥Why we loved them: We just love Drew anyway, but when she got together with Fabrizio Moretti, drummer with stylish New York rockers The Strokes, they were just too cute. He was an achingly hip rock star with striking Brazilian/Italian looks and one-fifth of the coolest band in the world. She was the A-list Hollywood actress, all chipmunk smiles and California girl nonchalance, five years his senior and they just looked so in love - always giggling, kissing and goofing around. They split in 2007. Blub.

Who: Julie Christie and Warren Beatty

♥When: 1965 - 1972.
♥Signature style: ‘60s idols.
♥Why we loved them: A Warren Beatty biographer may have recently revealed that the star has bedded almost 13,000 women (that\'s quite a few notches) but, for us, it‘s his relationship with cute British actress Julie Christie that was the best. The pretty boy Bonnie & Clyde star met Christie - whom he described as \"the most beautiful person I\'d ever known\" - in 1965 before going on to sizzle with her on-screen in the films McCabe & Mrs Miller, Shampoo and Heaven Can Wait. For seven years they were one of Hollywood\'s most glamorous couples.

Who: Madonna and Sean Penn

♥When: 1985 - 1989.
♥Signature style: Couldn\'t-give-a-damn individuality.
♥Why we loved them: They may have had a tumultuous and short marriage (remember the angry confrontations with the paparazzi that led to a jail stint for Penn and the explosive arguments?), but with every stormy relationship comes unbridled passion. And Madonna and Penn were hot. He was an up-and-coming actor with an irresistible bad boy reputation and she was a global superstar, in fact, make that the biggest female solo star in the world at the time, and he worshipped her. They cemented their romance by marrying in a hill top ceremony in 1985. However, it didn\'t last long. The boozy, heated arguments became too much and they divorced four years later.
