Backstage pre-show Dolce and Gabbana revealed their Fall/Winter 2008 collection had been entirely inspired by watching Helen Mirren in her Oscar-winning movie, The Queen. Their latest campaign, shot by screaming Anglophile, Mario Testino, is a homage to Her Majesty\'s hols at Balmoral. Although I\'m not quite sure what Her Maj would think of these gorgeous bright young things, who include Alice Burdeu, Aline Weber, Anett Griffel, Iris Strubegger, Martha Streck and Olga Sherer? Dolled up in tartan, Argyle and paisley, with silk headscarves knotted under the chin, they are joined by Labrador retrievers, chickens and horses but NO corgis. Outrageous! The images are meant to mimic a Royal family portrait shot in the gloomy Scottish Highlands but with a twist. The men wear more make-up than the ladies, there are NO kilts and the feathered animals are still ALIVE for goodness sake. But hey, if only those Windsors looked more like this in real life...

Sounds impossible I know but this season the posh totties favourite accessory brand has got even flashier. Hot fashion photographer, Terry Richardson, shot the glamorous new JC campaign featuring American supermodel, Angela Lindvall, leaping about the newly-renovated Plaza Hotel on Central Park in New York. The leggy blonde bombshell wears several bag and vertiginous ankle boot styles destined to become red carpet regulars. We welcome the new soft structured Lohla-Jayne\' bag in glossy black python, the mid-calf length Helena\' boot, the Glenys\' heel in green python, and the spectacular Glint\' cobalt blue, rhinestone-studded guillotine\' (formerly known as peep-toe) booties. The campaign is a montage of fashionista moments\' unfolding in the course of just one thrilling night. The adventure begins in a luxurious bathroom, then moves to the hotel\'s revolving doors, then kerbside to the waiting limo. Don\'t ya just wanna be this shady lady?

Er hello. Bruce Weber shot this campaign, which could explain why it\'s intriguing. Looking like a 21st century homage to those glamorous Forties showgirls, the Ziegfeld Follies, the serious wind machine, striking lighting, and trio of models most designers would kill for, contains the right ingredients to make a fashion campaign...great. Flame-haired Karen Elson, now Mrs. Jack White, stages her major model comeback after her speedy baby break (two children in 24 months, say whaaaat?) She is joined by elfin-faced Belarusian-born top model, Tanya Dziahileva, who has notched up an impressive number of ad campaigns in two years including Lanvin and Dior; and 17 year old Russian, Irina Kulikova, former face\' of Daisy by Marc Jacobs, Jil Sander and Prada. Celine\'s artistic director, Ivana Omazic captures the spirit of the French fashion house\'s founder, Céline Vipiana, and, with a little help from Bruce and the girls, carves her own niche in fashion history.

It will be interesting to see how many campaigns Kate Moss notches up this season. Goes without saying she is once again the pin-up of her chum, Stella, along with the timelessly trendy American model Frankie Rayder. The bohemian vibe of Macca Jnr\'s latest Fall/Winter 2008/2009 campaign was art directed and shot by trailblazing photographers, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, (who have also shot the Gucci, Givenchy, YSL and Chloe campaigns). The Dutch duo capture Kate, dressed in Pre-Raphaelite style blue velvet (erm, where was this in the catwalk collection?) and Frankie, reclining on damask chintzy cushions and a Persian rug at Kate\'s house (yes really). Stella puts her stamp on the image by supplying scribbles of her signature leaping unicorn, superimposed with more shots of the girls cuddling (rescued?) kittens. A sort of Equus-meets-Animal Park without Ben Fogle.

The latest oh so romantic global Burberry campaign shot by Mario Testino, features Devon-born British model, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the girl with Mick Jagger\'s lips who dates Rolling Stone, Ronnie Wood\'s art dealer son, Tyrone. Her co-star is British pop-star-turned actor and pretty boy, Sam Riley. The black and white images shows the couple posing in townie tweeds and trench coats with the new Lowry\' bag, photographed on a misty morning in Kensington Gardens, one of the Royal London parks. It looks like a scene inspired by cult Sixties movie, Blow Up but is apparently inspired by the Northern English artist L.S. Lowry. The British superlabel have scored a coo in securing Rosie and Sam, who are both the next big thing in their chosen professions (just like Vanessa Redgrave and David Hemmings were in Blow Up). Riley wowed us in the controversial movie, Control, about tragic Joy Division frontman, Ian Curtis. New York-based 21-year-old Rosie is already being referred to as supermodel\' and the new Kate Moss\'. Good to see Burberry finally ditch those odd-looking waifs and strays and Bryan Ferry\'s cross-eyed spawn in favour of real talent.

Inspired by Woodstock in the late Sixties, or a convention of blonde tousled haired vampires frolicking in a clover-strewn meadow somewhere in Transylvania perhaps? Actually it\'s Majorca. Current photographers du jour, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin have dreamt up an intriguing campaign for Gucci\'s Fall/Winter 08. The Gucci girls include mostly blonde clones including green-eyed Hungarian flavour-of-the-month model, Eniko Mihalik, Aussie supermodel, Abbey Lee and willowy Camden-born Brit, Lily Donaldson. They strike Janis Joplin poses to show off all that fabulous tasselled leather, hippy fur, folksy print maxis and chain mail, rivet-studded bags. If you look closely you can spot a few cute but out of focus Gucci guys lurking shiftily in the background. Don\'t worry, they get their moment of glory in the Gucci men\'s campaign. Look out for German rising male model star, Olaf Czosnowski, wearing pixie boots, cowboy jacket and goatie, who Inez and Vinoodh are currently championing.

Yet another campaign shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin showing just how versatile and ontrend they are. The Givenchy girls are a smorgasbord of international superstars handpicked from the modeling world, past and present, to embody the tough, streetwise femininity of Winter 2008. Fashion experts declared Riccardo Tisci\'s 11th collection for Givenchy a triumph, certainly his best collection yet. This campaign sort of says that. Highlights include the frilly poet\'s blouse and biker leather jackets, all tipped to be must-haves of the new season modelled by the stars of it. Kirsten Owen has been hauled from retirement and is joined by the first ever Indian supermodel, Lakshmi Menon (last season\'s face\' of Hermes); Mariacarla Boscano (thankfully brunette again), Lara Stone and Natasha Poly. \"I chose these five women to represent elegance, femininity and masculinity with character,\" says Tisci. Think United Colours of Benetton for the 21st century.

Here we have La Campbell looking really fierce, flashing thighs, cleavage and all those fabulous YSL accessories, destined to become as iconic as the woman who wears them. Trib Two booties anyone? Black patent Muse Two bag? This is Naomi as we know and love her showing us how it\'s done and how/why she can still cut it. Although by no means the eldest of the fashpack, at 38, she leads the supermodel millennium renaissance in a season when it\'s fashionable to look like a powerful woman (with castration on her mind). Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shot the campaign under the direction of Italian designer-of-the-nanosecond, Stefano Pilati, in the legendary Paris HQ of Yves Saint Laurent on Avenue George V. The kingfisher blue dress Naomi wears in one of the ad campaign images has a his\' version jacket currently being sported by Kanye West. Just thought you might like to know this.

Topshop\'s new campaign echoes what the fast fashion chainstore is all about: Brit chick street-style. It might not be a designer label yet but it\'s now a global brand exporting the London look\' that designers knock-off/re-package so well, adding several noughts to the price tag in the process. Jourdan Dunn, Karlie Kloss, Eliza, Amanda Laine and Kori Richardson star in a string of ads shot by Emma Summerton using London tubes and buses, the theme being \'Topshop on the Move\' to reflect the upcoming opening of the first U.S Topshop. If only all inner city schoolgirls had such flawless skins (courtesy of make-up artist superstar,Val Garland) and wore striking combos like Breton stripy t-shirt, military bandstand waistcoat, teeny denim cut-offs, thick black opaques, tough leather studded booties, heart-shaped vintage handbag, topped with a bowler hat (stylist, Kate Phelan). One thing is the same though. Feet OFF the seats please girls.

Is it just me or is everyone going loco about Coco? The Canadian model with Irish roots features in the British based, French-born designer\'s latest campaign. Although Coco is mostly the jealously guarded muse of leading American photographer, Steven (the-man-behind-the-shades) Meisel, here Ms Rocha, is shot by trendy British photographer, Liz Collins, looking like a crazed Kate Bush style banshee. The story goes Liz Collins, who now works mostly with Italian Vogue, met the raven-haired beauty on a shoot for Numero magazine and convinced Farhi this was the girl to get her label bleeping once more on the global fashion radar. The utterly cool Coco is perfectly cast with her porcelain doll-like beauty and mad beehive hairdo. From a young age Coco was a champion Irish dancer that explains her ability to reel around the studio. Anyhow, the combination of Celtic beauty and Gaelic fashion works like a dream so it does.
