Phillip Lim
We may never have heard the name Phillip Lim if he\'d stayed on his planned career route; he was originally studying finance but swapped number crunching for fashion. Although, he didn\'t give up numbers entirely, calling his label 3.1 Phillip Lim, a nod to his numeric past or the fact he launched the label when he was 31 back in 2005? Since then his success as designer has skyrocketed, with a female, male and kids line as well as an eco diffusion range called Go Green Go.

Understated, polished and cool - three reasons to love 3.1 Phillip Lim. It\'s the label to go to for relevant clothing with an unpredictable edge.
Phillip Lim got recognised for his talents in 2007 by the prestigious CFDA awards - previously won by the likes of Marc Jacobs.
The fashion industry loves his ‘pretty but cool clothes\' that ‘don\'t try too hard\'; in short, Lim\'s clothes hold the key to the holy grail of effortless dressing, and for this we love him.

Who doesn\'t more like? Seriously celebrity friendly, Lim\'s dresses are favoured for their unidentifiable status - the opposite of an It dresses, 3.1 Phillip Lim dresses are the anti Herver Ledger bandage dress. Diane Kruger, Natalie Portman and Rachel Bilson (see left) are among his biggest fans, but Lim\'s coolest clothes horse has got to be Suri Cruise, seen out wearing Kid by Phillip Lim.
