Handbag.com chats to uber cool Scottish fashion designer Christopher Kane If you weren\'t a fashion designer what would you be?
I have other skills but designing is my most favourite. I love to draw and paint, so it would definitely be something creative

What trend do you hope never comes back?
I would never say never to anything - yesterday\'s rubbish can be the next jewel in the crown. Although I am totally over neon, it is still lingering since the S/S07 collections.

You have said in the past that your sister is your muse. Are there any celebrities who could ever share the title?
I have never said Tammy is my muse, more of a collaborator - I feel that the word muse is out of date and passive. We collaborate once I have come up with shapes and toiles, she helps me shape the collection. I take inspiration from all aspects of life from film characters to crazy characters from my childhood. We share the same childhood memories and experiences, so we draw a lot from that.

If you could have your dream Burns night knees up who would be your ideal party guests?
All of my family, including my late father - he religiously went every year to a very traditional men-only Burns\' Supper.

Do your family always attend your shows? How important have your family been in your career? Have they influenced you in any way?
Yes, my family attend every show, my mum and sister always sit in the front row. They are very important to me, I love them very much and want to show them how much they are part of what I do. If it wasn\'t for my mum and late father\'s support, I wouldn\'t have been able to be a student in London for 6 years. I am very close to my mum, 2 sisters and aunties -their work ethic influences me heavily - "you get what you work for" has been instilled in me from my family.

Which fellow London designers\' work are you most looking forward to seeing at upcoming London Fashion Week?
I am really excited and rooting for Jonathan Saunders who is showing in NY for the first time. There are so many great designers showing at LFW who do beautiful things from Todd Lynn, Roksanda, Marios and Giles. We all bring different things to the table which makes LFW very exciting.

What is your most sentimental possession?
It would have to be life drawings of my mum I did in the summer of 2002. My Dad had just passed away and we were at a loss as to what to do.... It was sunny so she sat in her leggings and bra for me. They say so much about that period and her. She laughs when she sees them, so that makes me happy.

Finally, do Scots really like haggis, and if so are you one of them?????
Yes, I love haggis, with turnips and potatoes... My mum makes it every Burns\' Night. I have porridge daily too, with salt, which funnily enough every English person thinks is weird as they have it with sugar - which I find disgusting! Each to their own, I suppose.
