Who will rule the red carpet and dominate the style columns in 2008? These are the faces to watch out for.

Ever since her role as the bitchy PA to the Editor in The Devil Wear\'s Prada, British actress Emily Blunt has been turning heads, not just for her superb acting skills, but also for her fashion choices on the red carpet. She is currently doing a very sexy turn as Tom Hanks\' plaything in Charlie Wilson\'s War, and further co-stars with him in The Great Buck Howard, due for release this year. Also watch out for her in the upcoming The Young Victoria, in which she plays the title role. Forever associated with the fashion world ever since her Prada turn, she impressed at last year\'s Oscars in a sparkly blue Calvin Klein strapless column dress.

Rachel Bilson

rachel, bilson Rachel Bilson Along with Kate Bosworth, Rachel Bilson is one of the hot fashion plates du jour. Design houses such as Chanel love to dress her perfectly proportioned frame (she attended her first Paris show for Chanel during last Fashion Week). This February sees her co-starring in the film Jumper with boyfriend Hayden Christensen.

Ellen Page

ellen, page Ellen Page Ellen Page\'s role in Juno, which became the indie hit of 2007, has made her into Hollywood\'s new darling, and a strong contender at this year\'s Oscars. The 19-year old has so far made a few red carpet appearances, looking young and cool - expect to see her in Marc Jacobs.

Eva Mendes

eva, mendes Eva Mendes Although we know her well from her many red carpet appearances, expect 2008 to be the year when Eva Mendes\' star goes stratospheric, following her steamy turn in We Own the Night as Joaquin Phoenix\'s lover. Favouring Dolce & Gabbana and Narciso Rodriguez on the red carpet, expect lots more sexy outfits in the coming year.

Tang Wei

tang, wei Tang Wei Plucked from obscurity by Ang Lee, Tang Wei does an astounding turn in Lust, Caution, in which she looks heartbreakingly elegant. Expect some chic turns on the red carpet come award season.

Maggie Gyllenhaal

maggie, gyllenhaal Maggie Gyllenhaal One word: Batman. The Dark Knight, the sequel to 2005\'s Batman Begins, is set to be the biggest film of 2008. And Maggie Gyllenhaal is the female lead, starring alongside Christian Bale and Heath Ledger. Her knack for looking cool, even on the red carpet, should see her up there on style lists alongside the likes of Kirsten Dunst and Sofia Coppola.

Catherine McNeil

Abbie Cornish

abbie, cornish Abbie Cornish Abbie Cornish\'s star status has been bubbling under some time now; she certainly turned head\'s last year alongside Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Furthermore, rumours (and paparazzi shots) of a romance with Ryan Philippe, with whom she stars in two upcoming films (Last Battle Dreamer and Stop Loss) have only added to the gossip whirlwind surrounding her. Her creamy good looks and eye for a nattily put-together outfit should see her gracing the style pages alongside Sienna and Mischa in no time.

Marion Cotillard

marion, cotillard Marion Cotillard French actress Marion Cotillard is almost a dead cert for an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Edith Piaf in last year\'s La Vie En Rose. Expect lots of chic red carpet appearances, probably in Chanel. Currently working on Nine, a film with Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem and Sophia Loren, Madamoiselle Cotillard has arrived.

Gemma Arterton

gemma, arterton Gemma Arterton Gemma Arterton, who first came to our attention last year in the debacle that was St Trinians, has just been confirmed as the female lead in the new Bond film. Need we say more?

Megan Fox

megan,fox Megan Fox

Chances are your boyfriend may know more about Megan Fox than you do. This is due to a particularly sexy turn in last summer\'s blockbuster Transformers, and a proclivity for the odd sexy men\'s magaznie shoot. Barely out of her teens, the girl they\'re calling the new Lindsay Lohan will next be seen in the film adaptation of Toby Young\'s book, How to Lose Friends and Alienate People.

Duffy

Bar Rafaeli

bar, rafaeli Bar Rafaeli Each year needs a red carpet bombshell - someone who isn\'t necessarily affiliated to a film, but will guarantee acres of front page coverage (think Eva Herzigova, Naomi Campbell). Bar Rafaeli is one such girl, as she proved at Cannes last year, left. Girlfriend to Leonardo Di Caprio, the Israeli model has posed for Pirelli and Victoria\'s Secret (her striking resemblance to Gisele Bundchen only makes her all the more of a hot topic). Expect to see a lot more of her.

Michelle Williams

michelle,williams Michelle Williams

She\'s come a long way since Dawson\'s Creek, this one: via marriage to Heath Ledger (they announced their split last year) and motherhood, as well as a string of critically acclaimed roles in hits such as Brokeback Mountain and I\'m Not There (in which she does a brilliant turn as a messed-up Edie Sedgwick/Twiggy type to Cate Blanchett\'s Bob Dylan). She is always immaculately dressed (remember her in marigold Vera Wang?) - expect some impressive red carpet turns in 2008.
