Christopher Kane and Tammy Kane
This wee lad from Glasgow grew up wishing one day he\'d be as good at making clothes as his idol, Gianni Versace. Well he made it, and now this Central St Martins alumni not only collaborates for the Versace label he is the designer behind their diffusion line Versus, as well as designing for his eponymous label. This 26 year old has crammed a lot in but he hasn\'t done it all alone. Sister Tammy (see left with Christopher) plays a keen role in the Christopher Kane empire running the financial side of the business as well as assisting with the design process.

Anna Wintour loves his work, Donatella Versace thinks of him as part of the Versace family and Christian Louboutin designs shoes for his label; this kid has got serious fashion clout.
Collection after collection, Kane receives adoring praise from the fashion world, his stand out show however, is still his first. The ss07 neon collection kicked started a massive fluro trend; literally blinding the fashion world with his talent.
His collection for this season (see left), which he told journalists was inspired by Planet of the Apes and the Flintstones (he has a sense of humour too), sold out within twenty-four hours when it went on line at Net-a-porter in February this year.
And Seeing as you\'re no one these days unless you\'ve designed a collection for Topshop, Kane can breath easily because he has.

Who wears it?

Kane\'s strong relationship with the glitzy diamond retailer Swarovski means one thing - stand out from the crowd, eye popping clothing, aka a celebrity\'s dream. He designed the costumes for Kylie\'s 2Hearts video and dressed Beth Ditto for Fashion Rocks last year (see left).
One woman who Kane won\'t be dressing is Victoria Beckham. He famously said no to lending her a dress so Posh went out and bought it anyway. Kane\'s reply? "I\'ve got nothing against her, but she\'s not the woman I imagine wearing my dresses. I think more of women like Carine Roitfeld because she\'s sexy and intelligent. Posh Spice doesn\'t even get a look-in." Ouch.
