Burberry lights up the New York skyline

Burberry have lit up their new neon logo on top of their Manhattan skyscraper HQ

Last night Burberry hosted an event to celebrate the lighting of their logo on a Manhattan skyscraper. Chief executive Angela Ahrendts and creative director Christoper Bailey were on hand to greet guests, with new-girl-in-town Alexa Chung adding a bit of British flavour as DJ. The drinks and canapés, which also had a British theme, were served to the glamorous array of guests, including supermodels Lily Donaldson and Helena Christensen, Orlando Bloom, Gossip Girl stars and real-life sweethearts Blake Lively and Penn Badgley and Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy.

The event coincided with today being declared Burberry Day in New York by the City's Mayor Bloomberg.
