Antonio Berardi and Sass & Bide to show in London

Antonio Berardi and Sass & Bide are the latest designer brands to join the London Fashion Week schedule.

The list of designers returning to show during London Fashion Week as part of the British Fashion Council's 25th anniversary celebrations just keeps getting bigger, as two more labels announce that they will return to show in the capital. Antonio Berardi and Sass & Bide revealed today that they will join Matthew Williamson, Burberry Prorsum, Jonathan Saunders, Amanda Wakeley and Pringle of Scotland on the bumper London Fashion Week schedule.

Antonio Berardi, who was born in London to Sicilian parents and launched his label in the city in 1995, has announced that he will return to London Fashion Week in September with a Peroni Nastro Azzurro sponsored show after showing in Paris since 2005.

Berardi, who is perhaps best known for dressing Gwyneth Paltrow (see picture left), said, "London has always felt like my home. I am grateful to the British Fashion Council for the invitation to return." 

He will join the Australian design duo Sass & Bide, who first showed in London in 2002 before switching to New York, who will show their spring/summer 2010 range on the opening day of the show schedule. Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton, the designers behind the cult denim and ready-to-wear brand famous for its skinny jeans, took a two-year break from showing their collections when Middleton underwent treatment for breast cancer.
