Fashion news 13 November 2008
Forget Amy Winehouse, this month's tattoo inspiration is all about Rihanna. The super successful pop star has posed for an advertising campaign for Gucci, promoting a handbag and shoe collection - part of the Italian luxury goods house's latest offering for its ongoing project benefiting UNICEF - featuring a classic tattoo-style design of a heart embellished with the trademark Gucci symbols of a horsebit and a web. Since 2005, Gucci's Creative Director Frida Giannini has designed an exclusive annual collection to support the charity. "I love the idea of a heart being tattooed onto the handbags," she said in a statement, adding, "It's a permanent mark that you can wear with pride and that stays with you. I think that represents very well what we are doing here."
The White Heart Tattoo Collection benefitting UNICEF is on sale now at Gucci stores and at gucci.com from 19 November 2008 until 31 January 2009, with 25% of sales going to the charity.
