The young New York label in every fashionista’s secret address book.

Pretty print dresses, slouchy romper suits and perfectly cut peg leg trousers? These are the founding garments of Sea New York's spring/summer 2009 collection, New York's best-kept fashion secret.

Originally launched by New York-based designer Sean Monahan, Sea New York was designed for his close female friends based on the idea of creating clothes that made girls smile.

The idea has clearly worked.

Since its launch in autumn 2006, the line has developed a following among hip New York girls, celebrities including Alexa Chung, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chloe Sevigny, and fashionistas this side of the pond who are looking for something not to be found on every UK high street.
