Handbag of the week: Lanvin
£715 by Lanvin from Harvey Nichols
No you're not ill, but you are seeing spots. Leopard spots are everywhere. From the high street to designer, this season, the king of all the animal prints has had innumerable makeovers; fluorescent leopard print from the Stephen Sprouse archive for Louis Vuitton, giant spots that look like they've been under a microscope by Barbara Hulanicki for Topshop and Flintstone inspired, cave woman-esque leopard prints by Christopher Kane. The leader of the pack however has to be Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz whose leopard designs were the chicest of the bunch. Asymmetric shoulder dresses came in turquoise or lilac leopard which took the print well and truly away from bar maid territory and cemented it as the animal print du jour.
Lanvin's roomy shopper is ultra girly and chic yet the electric leopard print makes it fun and playful. In other words, it's totally fierce.
