Mourners paid their respects yesterday at the funeral of fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, who died of brain cancer on Monday. He was 71. Security was tight for the 800-strong crowd, which included President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife, Carla Bruni (a former YSL model), Catherine Deneuve and Claudia Schiffer. Crowds of people also lined the streets leading up to the Église Saint-Roch, where the funeral was held. The two-hour long mass and cremation was broadcast live on French TV. Among the designers who attended were Lanvin\'s Alber Elbaz, Marc Jacobs, John Galliano, Christian Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood and Stefano Pilati, the current designer at YSL. The designer\'s ashes will be taken and kept at his house in Marrakech, which he owned with business partner and former boyfriend Pierre Bergé. Danielle Radojcin
