Yesterday saw the red carpet brigade don their glad rags for the latest event in the 2009 awards ceremony calendar: The SAG (Screen Actors Guild awards), held in Los Angeles. While the Golden Globes and the Oscars reward directors, producers and so on, the SAGs (despite its rather funny acronym) attracts a glitzy crowd as it solely recognises actors - making it rather more fun to look at. This year\'s winners included Meryl Streep (best actress for Doubt), Kate Winslet (best supporting actress for The Reader), Sean Penn (best actor, Milk) and Heath Ledger, who won a posthumous best supporting actor award for The Dark Knight. Fashion-wise, there was a preference for bright colours and gowns with trains. Nominees Penélope Cruz, Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway kept the glamour quotient high, along with Katie Holmes, Emily Blunt and Mad Men\'s January Jones. Danielle Radojcin
