Andrej Pejic, the 20-year-old androgynous male model who frequently models womenswear, has become the first man to model lingerie – and more specifically a push-up bra. Dutch fashion brand Hema chose the male model for their latest ad campaign for the ‘Mega Push-Up Bra’.
In the shots the male model wears clingy red and black dresses, showing off the figure-enhancing curves to be expected when wearing the bra.
Andrej shot to fame as the first model to walk in both mens and womenswear shows in Paris in January 2011, walking for such esteemed designers as Marc Jacobs and Jean Paul Gautier – closing his haute couture show in a see-through bridal gown. His success comes hot on the heels of transgendered model Lea T, who famously starred in the Givenchy ad campaign in 2010.
