Anjelica Houston has one of the most recognisable faces in Hollywood, with those high cheek bones, luscious dark hair and wide smile, it’s no surprise that she was a hot model in the ‘70s and was the on-and-off beau of bad lad Jack Nicholson. Famous for scaring generations of children, she’s made a living playing kooky, villainous roles, from Morticia Adamms in The Adamms Family to The Grand High Witch in The Witches (a particularly creepy part). A bit of a vamp, Anjelica is well-known for her killer style off-screen, particularly her championing of men’s suits, gothic dresses and costume jewellery. Anjelica, we salute you.
Here in 1970, Anjelica is in her model hey-day. On the arm of new man Jack Nicholson, she couldn’t look happier (and neither could Jack!) Her silver-sequined long-sleeved dress is definitely at the height of disco-fever, and the scallop detail gives her that mermaid-esque look. The matching mini box bag and long chain necklace are a stroke of genius.
