The global financial crisis seemed light years away last night in the millionaire\'s playground of Dubai, as it played host to a super-extravagant party for the grand opening of the Atlantis Palm Jumeirah hotel. A whole host of fashionable A-list stars, including Charlize Theron, Mary-Kate Olsen, Agyness Deyn and Lindsay Lohan, were flown out to the United Arab Emirates to join in the celebrations with an endless flow of the world\'s finest champagne and food cooked by Michelin-starred chefs for the guests to enjoy (the party is rumoured to have cost a whopping £15 million). Aussie pop-starlet Kylie Minogue provided the musical entertainment for the evening, pocketing an impressive £2 million, not bad for a night\'s work. What\'s more, the night was topped off with a spectacular fireworks display, which is said to have cost seven times as much as those used in the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony. Recession?
