Fans of all things vintage and retro, listen up; style icon and burlesque beauty Dita von Teese has launched her own capsule collection, called Muse. Inspired by her love of fashion from the 1940s and 50s, the four dresses and trench coat will feature a palette of black, scarlet and rose print, with grosgrain ribbon belts to accentuate the waist (after years of dedicated corset wearing, Ms von Teese can restrict her waist to unbelievable eighteen inches.) Every item in the collection has high quality finishing like in-built corsetry and silk crepe de chine lining, to help achieve the standards of vintage glamour Dita is so well known for.
At the moment, the collection is being sold through Australian retailers David Jones, who are currently in talks to expand in the USA and Europe which hopefully means we will all be able to get a little bit of Dita style in our lives. After hundreds of celebrity clothing lines being launched, it takes a lot to get us excited, but Dita has such impeccable taste that we are sure this collection will be stunning. Whats more, Dita ensured the dresses would be flattering on all figures, asking that they be produced up to a size 20 while not compromising on the stylish tailoring. At the launch, Dita said Muse is designed to complement a multitude of body shapes, so every woman can celebrate her natural beauty and feel sexy in a gorgeous dress. I like daring people and people that take chances with fashion. A lot of those people arent stars or celebrities, they are real women I know around the world who dare to be different and dont choose their clothes based on what they think other people will accept. Thats our kind of style icon...
The Muse collection will be available at David Jones stores from January 2012.
