Stories form around the ever-fascinating work of Miuccia Prada so readily, that we already know, for example, that her normal dislike of lace was this season challenged when she saw a swatch of the heavy, black swirling overlay she used in her show. We also know that she was referring slightly to early Nineties Prada, although, as she herself asserts, fashion is all about newness. The heavy, baroque lace was given a modern lift when it appeared on a bright orange skirt, and the whole show had a hidden sexiness to it with surprise flashes of skin showing through the austere black cover-ups.
