David Koma Autumn/Winter 2012

David Koma Autumn/Winter 2012

There are a fair few themes we’ve seen running across London Fashion Week - peplums, animal motifs and the occasional flash of bright colour all cropped up at several shows. David Koma’s autumn/winter 2012 show was no exception.

Koma drew inspiration for his show from several different decades for his collection – high necked dresses were drawn from the 1920s, while the aforementioned animal motifs formed part of a series of monochrome, art deco prints. There was also a touch of the 1960s in his kicky shift dresses – a decade that several designers have paid homage to throughout the week. Slick, elegant and low-key this was a well-put together, cohesive collection, even if it did lack some of the spark of his spring/summer show.
