Burberry’s autumn/winter 2012 show saw the brand going back to their Town & Field roots, with flat caps and tweed in abundance (we’re bracing ourselves, and not in a good way, for Madonna to start dressing like a displaced country gent again…). Padded jackets, oversized coats and khaki featured in abundance.
Outerwear was the main focus, but the tiny details on the accessories also kept the focus on all things country – with a wolf belt buckle and owl printed t-shirts.
But the real stars of the show weren’t the clothes. Rather it was the all-star FROW (featuring Clemence Posey, Kate Bosworth, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Eddie Redmayne to name but a few), and the end-of-show pyrotechnics, which appeared to make it rain in the hall at Kensington Gardens. Overall, this wasn't the wow-worthy show we've come to expect from Christopher Bailey, but it was still solid with some great key pieces. However, we were still more interested in who was on the front row than what was going on on the catwalk.
