Every year, the The British Fashion Awards honour the best that British fashion has to offer. From the highly coveted Designer of the Year award, to the Emerging Talent and Designer Brand awards, theres plenty to hope for, and more still to be gained from the prestigious titles.
This years star-studded ceremony took place last night and was hosted by George Lamb and Lauren Laverne with a long list of celebrity guests in attendance. Handbag favourites Josephine de la Baume, Olivia Palermo, Victoria Beckham and Alexa Chung were all on hand to present or receive awards. But who won what?
Its no surprise that the Designer of the Year Award went to Sarah Burton, the designer behind Alexander McQueen and the most famous wedding dress of the year. Fashion favourite Christopher Kane picked up a new award, the New Establishment Award, celebrating his impact on British fashion this year. Mary Katrantzou, she of the extraordinary prints, won Emerging Talent Womenswear, while Victoria Beckham picked up the well-deserved Designer Brand accolade for her signature dresses.
The British Style Award of course went for the 2nd year running to Alexa Chung for her unique fashion sense and penchant for mini dresses and peter pan collars. Model of the Year was the stunning and androgynous Stella Tennant, while Paul Smith picked up the honour of Outstanding Achievement in Fashion. Bravo to all involved.
