Using their trademark biker jacket as a starting point, the Belstaff designer Manuele Malenotti sent out a collection which riffed on this theme, so that alongside traditional soft, black leather blousons there were heavy zips on a burnt orange suede jacket, and a biker-style pocket on the breast of a woollen polo-neck jumper. There were some nice, wearable separates, but in the end, Malenotti was smart to make the jackets and coats the centrepiece of the collection.

 

On another note, Belstaff have more than just a new collection to celebrate: at this year\'s Oscar\'s, three of the nominated films feature Belstaff pieces: in Sweeney Todd, Johnny Depp wears a specially-made trench; in Eastern Promises Naomi Watts wears a bespoke wax cotton blouson, and in I\'m Not There, Cate Blanchett dons a Sixties-style pull-on.
