1. It’s the first day of fashion week. You’ve lost your ticket to the best show of the day and you can’t get in! Do you:

Write the worst review of a show anyone’s ever received. On Twitter. In the lobby. Before the show has even started. Such is the influence of your Tweets that the designer himself comes out to escort you to a front row seat before the show’s allowed to start.

Stride imperiously in, sweeping PRs and paparazzis over with your cashmere cape.

You sneak in under a very tall woman’s large cashmere cape. No-one seems to notice. You use your neon rucksack to save your mate a FROW seat, only to discover later that you nicked Kirsten Dunst’s spot.

You shrug and head off to the pub in your bamboo, palm leaf and foil jumpsuit. As you reach the door the senior PR spots you and drags you back to your rightful place on the front row, where you block every ones view with your galaxy-themed headgear.

1. It’s day three and the biggest party of the week. You’re flagging a bit, so you:

Make a list of the ten most interesting people at the party and get your picture taken with them, do a quick scan to see who else is there and then upload your post in the taxi on the way to your next event. You’re there for a grand total of 20 minutes.

You sit at the top table with your fellow editors. Civilians keep coming over to try and talk to you, but you repel them with a frosty stare. Through your sunglasses.

You sneak in through the fire escape but run off before anyone catches you setting the alarm off. You manage to get through three plates of canapés and half a bottle of champagne before anyone notices you. You also brush past Christopher Kane who tells you to move. It’s all very exciting.

This is a fashion week party? You were on your way to the supermarket for a spot of late night shopping in your favourite Sou’Wester and galoshes when someone grabbed you off the street and dragged you inside.

1. One of the biggest designers of the Noughties is back after a three year sabbatical for the most hotly anticipated shows of the year. Everyone else is raving about what a success it is, but you hate it. You:

Tweet your opinion as loudly and voraciously as you can as you leave. A couple of retweets later and the show has been universally panned as a total disaster.

Maintain a haughty silence, refuse to clap, stand up or indeed smile at the end of the show, and sweep out without acknowledging the designer. They’ll get the message.

Despite giggling and making fart noises throughout most of the show, you immediately defer to anyone older than you when asked what you thought of it.

Loudly liken the style and atmosphere of the show to your Great Aunt Mabel’s funeral in 1976 in Wigan. Everyone ignores you.

1. Disaster strikes! Your nemesis has rocked up wearing the exact same ‘vintage’ dress as you. You’re stuck standing next to each other and the paps are having a field day. So you:

Decide to make the most of the photo opportunity and make sure everyone has your name and blog address written down correctly. There’s no such thing as bad publicity.

You glare at your opposite number with such ferociousness that she takes the dress off there and then. Problem solved.

You’re a bit embarrassed that your vintage dress has been outed as high street, but you use the extra to attention to ask if anyone, anyone? Has a work experience placement you can do.

You’re slightly surprised that someone else is wearing a salmon pink rubber catsuit and a Victorian bonnet, but you don’t dwell on it too much.

1. You see a terrified looking fashion assistant totally stack it on the cobblestones at Somerset House. You...

Take a picture, which you upload straight on to your blog. You help her up afterwards though, you’re not a total monster.

She’s selfishly landed right in your path, so you’re forced to tread on her as you make your way to the next show. She nearly made you late, which you find unforgivable.

You realise that she’s carrying tickets and schedules for one of the biggest fashion editors around. Before she can get up you offer to stand in for her, grab the tickets and run off to meet your new boss.

Rush over to help her up, but she takes one look at your outfit (lime green trouser suit, gold platform trainers, witches hat) and runs off screaming.

You’re a fashion blogger

You’re the editorial elite

Hey Anna Wintour, what brings you here? As part of the editorial elite of glossy editors and fashion editors, you’ve spent years earning your place on the front row, where you’re rarely seen without your shades, expensive blow dry and sky-high heels. You got bumped to the second row last year by a fashion and expressive dance blogging collective and all hell broke loose, so you’re hoping the natural order will be restored this season.

You’re a blagger

From your borrowed clothes (rescued from the fashion cupboard at your latest internship) to the ticket you nabbed from your mate who knows someone who knows the PR, you can’t believe your luck when you manage to squeeze onto the front row. Oblivious to the glares from the rest of the front row (see: editorial elite) you’re just going to enjoy the show, nab as many freebies as you can, and dream of the day when you’re here to do some actual paid work.

You’re an eccentric

No-one’s entirely sure why you get invited to the shows every year, least of all you. You wandered in with a friend in 1997 and have been getting an invite every year since. Your fashion sense is, erm, eclectic and nothing is too outlandish. This gives PRs the impression that you’re a Very Important Fashion Person, and you’re certainly not going to put them straight any time soon. You’re habitually referred to as ‘an institution,’ which is why no-one minds when you block everyone’s views with your mad headgear.
