Who are the greatest supermodels of all time? That was the challenge the handbag.com fashion team faced as part of our model month this July. Names of girls past who have left an impression on fashion's consciousness sprang to mind, from Lisa Fonssagrives to Penelope Tree to Gia Carangi. Of course, the reigning queens from the '90s came up, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer and Linda Evangelista among them. What about the girls who came after the supermodels, we asked? Shalom Harlow, Amber Valletta, Natalia Vodianova... the list is endless. We narrowed it down to 10, in order of time, giving reasons for our choices, and also added the ones who nearly made it, but not quite. We hope you agree with some of them - and we're sure you'll let us know about the ones you don't. Read on to see who they are...
