Best vintage shops in the UK

The Antique Clothing Shop
282 Portobello Road, London, W10
Fri - Sat, 9am - 6pm
Shop owner Sandy Stagg has been buying and selling vintage clothing since the 70s, and she's been selling from her Portobello Road shop, which sells both men and women's vintage clothing, since 1992. Her biggest coup was finding a Madeleine Vionnet couture gown in Toronto, which had been featured in American Harper's Bazaar. She bought it for $60, and then sold it at auction, left, for a whopping $10,000.
Open on the same days as Portobello Market, the shop sells pieces ranging from the Edwardian era through to the 1970s. It also has a little-known vintage wedding-gown shop downstairs.
