Tricky Trend... All-in-ones
Giant baby-grows might not have been your final word in style before this winter, but what could be more appealing than a baby soft cashmere romper-suit, says Fashion Director Tracey Lea Sayer
Belstaff, MaxMara, Stella McCartney
Stella McCartney's is already on my Christmas list and will be my outfit of choice on Christmas day when my expanding girth doesn't need restraining with a gladiator belt or any other instrument of fashion torture. No, I will be lounging resplendent in an all-in-one. If Stella McCartney's price tag is a little over your budget then head to COS, you can bag yourself a grey knitted version for £39
All-in-ones should be approached with caution, like any fashion trend there are pitfalls aplenty. The boiler suit type, at MaxMara, should be kept really simple, slouchy is good with a pair of killer heels and scraped back hair. You don't want to pile on the accessories or you will look like a throw back from Fame.
Knitted suits are even trickier. Layering is the key. Throw a Dr. Who scarf around your neck with a baggy cardi and a pair of flat boots and a trench. Spray-on is not the way to go. Banish all thoughts of the catsuit from your mind. The new all-in-one should by baggy and boyish. This look is about style not sex. Try it, you just might like it...
