Halston courts SJP
Sarah Jessica Parker is reportedly in talks to become the new face of Halston.
With filming for the second Sex And The City movie in full swing, Sarah Jessica Parker is back to her fashionista best - something that hasn't gone unnoticed by Halston, which we hear is courting her as its new muse.
Should the rumours bear fruit, the timing for such a partnership couldn't be better. Relaunched by film mogul Harvey Weinstein for the autumn/winter 2008 season, the iconic '70s label is finally finding its feet in modern fashion, having had a somewhat underwhelming initial response.
Now, with former head designer Marcos Zanini newly replaced by Brit It designer Marios Schwab and the much-hyped Halston Heritage range due to debut this season, securing an A-list star as its official ambassador would be a lucrative next step.
SJP has already been papped sporting various Halston Heritage looks - which will be available to buy exclusively from Harvey Nichols when the collection lands in the UK - on the SATC2 set. Her particular brand of American high style is undeniably a perfect fit for the label, which rose to precedence during the Studio 54 era and is known for its easy glamour.
For her part, La Parker is no stranger to modelling, having previously starred in campaigns for Garnier, Gap and her own perfume brand. Fronting a campaign for a luxury brand, however, would be a major step up. Not bad for a woman juggling an already-packed work schedule with two new babies (twins Marion and Tabitha, who were born to a surrogate in June).
Our verdict? Expect confirmations soon.
