Trouble at Celine?
The rumour mill suggests all is not going to plan at the french fashion house. By Belinda White
As the fashion world holds its breath in anticipation of Phoebe Philo's debut collection for French fashion house Celine, news reaches us that there may be trouble brewing in paradise. According to Fashion Week Daily rumours abound that Philo has locked horns with Celine's CEO Marco Gobbetti who moved from Givenchy to Celine in October.
Philo was set to unveil her first collection this March in Paris with a formal presentation, and her catwalk debut was set for October 2009. However, it now appears that the highly-anticipated March presentation is in question with one reliable industry source claiming that a "team" is now working on the collection.
Celine's HQ are staying loyal to their star acquisition stating "Phoebe's debut show will be in October, as has always been planned and we are as excited as ever for Celine's partnership with Phoebe Philo,". Let's hope so, we've cleared our diaries for this one!
