Apple has designs on Mulberry
Apple stakes a claim on high fashion with a new luxury collaboration.
Writing your Christmas list just got a whole lot easier, thanks to the announcement that two of the world's most beloved brands, Apple and Mulberry, have collaborated on an exclusive line made in techy-fashion heaven.
Mulberry has adapted two of its most iconic designs - the Bayswater, and men's Brynmore - to accommodate Apple's most popular gadgets, the MacBook, MacBook Pro, iPhone, iPod, and iPod nano. While the bags look familiar, inside they've been specially adapted with padded laptop sections, phone and music player pockets and eyelet holes for headphone access.
Mulberry's creative director and self-confessed "Mac addict" Emma Hill admits that she was only too happy to oblige when Apple approached the company about the project earlier this year.
"Apple products are too beautiful to reside in drab bags! Apple and Mulberry share a legacy of craftsmanship and I'm thrilled that we were asked to be Apple's first luxury collaboration," she explains.
Which leads to the inevitable question, who will be next?
In the meantime, the Mulberry for Apple bags will be available to buy from 1 November on Apple's European website and Mulberry stores, also launching on 1 December on Mulberry.com.
